Mark Goldberg has been in the real estate business in Seattle since 1973. With over 35 years of experience in residential, multi-family and commercial real estate, he has developed broad and extensive knowledge to draw on.
Mr. Goldberg began his career in 1973 as a residential sales agent, becoming the top salesman at the largest residential real estate company in Seattle.
In 1976, Mr. Goldberg formed a construction company to build custom homes, to purchase, remodel and sell remodeled properties, and to develop residential subdivisions.
In late 1979, following the rapid upward movement of interest rates, Mr. Goldberg tool the opportunity to enter the commercial real estate business. He became a broker with Capretto & Clark, a large commercial brokerage in downtown Seattle. By 1984, with a speicaty in the sale of large apartment complexes, Mr. Goldberg was the company's top producer.
In 1985, Mr Golberg left Capretto & Clark to form The M.S. Cavoad Co. Incorporated, which was a group of full-service real estate companies specializing in three major areas: development, construction and brokerage/advisory. The development and construction company acquired, developed, built and/or rehabbed apartment complexes. The advisory/brokerage company served as an advisor to companies across America such as John Hancock, Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Company and Diversified Holdings. During this time, the brokerage company sold over 4500 units in multi-family complexes and several commercial projects, with Mr. Goldberg as its driving force and prime negotiator.
Since its inception, the company has built many different types of building but the focus has been on acquisition and development of apartments, and condominiums. The company has developed over 2000, units both wood frame and steel and concrete buildings, including landmark projects such as The 400 Condominium in Bremerton, the Epicenter (mixed use) in Fremont, and the multi-story Ballard Mini-Storage in Ballard. The company handled all development activities, including land acquisition, all due diligence, site planning, all governmental interaction, entitlement, conceptual to final design, cost estimating, construction, permanent financing, lease-up assets management and disposition. The company has consistently built their projects at below market costs without compromising the quality of the specifications or the design. Eight of Mr. Goldberg's projects have been featured in national and local real estate publications.
Over his many years in business, Mr. Goldberg has developed an encyclopedic knowledge of the real estate markets of the Seattle area, which is crucial in analyzing specific markets in order to determine how a project will most likely perform. Mr. Goldberg is well versed in real estate law, as well, as all the facets of acquisition and disposition of real estate. He has consistently produced well above market returns for his clients.
